We're all are striving to climb the ladder of success

As I continue to grow and learn, I'm aware of the difficulties of life that everyone most endure. All of us may not be confronted with the same state of affairs, but all have different situations that press us down and make 'success' more challenging.

As I ponder on this thought: 'We're all striving to climb the ladder of success.'

Doesn't it make sense for all who are striving to climb the ladder of success, to work together? All of us are working hard in our own way to be successful on whatever we have our eyes set on; however, most of us in our technique to climb the ladder have the thought to push someone else down in order for us to reach the top. But, why? Why does someone have to suffer in order for us to be successful? I know some of you are thinking about Jesus. In this sense, Jesus not only suffered, but he prepared a way for people to be reconciled with God; however, we as a people are making other people suffer more than they should, so that we can become successful while the others become unsuccessful. Jesus suffered so that all, not only Jesus (in his resurrection) but all would have the opportunity be successful (only in and through Christ Jesus).

In comparison to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., "I have a Dream"

I have a dream that this world will be a better place for ALL. Let's look and ponder at some of the dynamics that we are lacking.

This world would be a better place:

* If we learn to accept one another (not their erroneous habits) for whom they are. ~ Remember, "Who we are is an application of the things that we learn from yesterday's past."

* If cold hearted individuals in this world would visit the hospitals and nursing homes and meet those who never saw the world, but are held captives to their beds. This would humble a lot of us who are so SPOIL of the things of this world. We will learn how to cherish the blessings of life.

* If we learn how to love, not the way ‘Bowwow, The Isley Brother, R. Kelly’ defines love. The Love where one will decrease so that one may increase.

*If we learn to embrace the spirit of humility.

*If we to embrace Knowledge, Wisdom and understanding.

* If we learn to embrace a positive mindset.

There are many more, but I want to hear from you. What do you think we can do as a people to make this world a better place? Do you believe in the dream? (Feel free to add to the list)

I leave you with this last thought: Someone once said "Let's make this world a better place, and it start with me"

"Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

The New President of the United States

CONGRATULATIONS TO BARACK OBAMA!!!!!!!!

History has been made, and hopefully we all will cherish these moments. As a young man, I realize that many have died for this moment and I shouldn't take this for granted. Our ancestors, hundreds of years ago, faced pain, punishment, disrespect, mistreatment so that you and I may have the liberty to vote.

Brice Point: Even though our history may not be pleasant, our present and future can be memorable and GREAT!

It doesn't matter what color you are - YOU ARE SOMEBODY!

I can't help myself, but it reminds me of Jesus the Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus faced the punishment that we deserved so that you and I can have freedom to live life with purpose, faith, endurance and hope. Due to what Jesus faced thousands of years ago, I can look forward to facing God on the day of Judgement and hear him say 'Well done thou good and faithful servant.' Thank you Jesus.

People, People, People - Celebrate! Pray for our government, Pray for our nation, Pray for you and I.

Oh yeah, word of advice, EVERYONE fill up your tanks, because McCain and Bush are going to raise the gas prices.. lol Peace

John 3:16 ~ For GOD so LOVED the WORLD that he GAVE his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him so not perish but have EVERLASTING LIFE

Jesus faced what we deserved to face so that you and I, who obeys his word made be free from sin and have the opportunity to be with Him in heaven. Live life with joy.

Its been LONG and CHALLENGING, but not DONE YET. Here's a quote

I Know, I Know, I Know, I haven't updated this blog spot in a mighty long time. Folks, I've been working tirelessly day by day.

Steven J. Brice Life:
1. 20 hours of Bible courses here at SwCC
2. 23 hours of work at the music hall at fair park (Dallas)
3. 24 hours of work study each month
4. 4 to 6 hours are sleep
5. 2 hours of personal study
6. 3 hours of homework
7. 2 hours to stay in touch with individual (don't want to be too busy where I forget to say hello)
... and much more...

(Yeah, I know, I have a boring life)

However, as I strive to prepare for my future, life can become challenging. There are times where I want to quite and have fun. Has anybody ever been there before? Have you ever had second thoughts of doing the right thing? Here's a quote that is familiar, but powerful.

"When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on" ~ Franklin D. Roosevelt

When life pulls us down, just tie a knot on the rope of success and HANG ON!

"He who has a slack hand becomes poor, but the hand of the diligent makes rich." ~ Proverbs 10:4

I Have Power !

Jesus, as recorded, died for the sins of the world. He was buried in a tomb, however he rose out of the grave alive. When Jesus rose out of the grave he told his disciples "All power is given unto me..."; He mentioned this powerful statement in spite of some of his disciples unbelief (Matthew 28:18).

There are many lessons in the story of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. One lesson I believe that can empower, encourage, and edify anyone is that "WE HAVE POWER!" When Jesus died, he entered into Satan's territory to win a fight that we could not win ourselves. For those who have been baptized for the remission of their sins, that same power that rose Jesus out of the grave is the same power that God has given us. (Of course this lesson has so many points within itself, however it is best that I keep it brief).

For those who are in a relationship with God through Jesus (Christians), we have power over life's situations. Christ has conquered death, the grave and the devil. Due to that fact, I can conquer any situation that I go through. For those who are not a christian, you should want to become one so that you will be able to inherit this power that God has in store for you.

Brice Point: Often in life we repeat comments such as: "he/she made me mad!"; "this problem has a toll on me"; "I can't function right because of what I'm going through" and much more. Folks, what we are really saying is that 'he/she is controlling my mood.' 'My problems changes my entire way of thinking.'
Since Christ has all power, and I'm in a relationship with God through Jesus, then I have power as well. I should not allow someone else dictate how I should feel the next moment. Situations should never have power over my mind. We allow problems and situations to control us.

If we have power, and Christ won our battle, then we can conqueror every situation that we encounter in life. I'm not going to 'have a nice day' but I'm going to 'make a nice day.'
All I want to say is that we have power through Jesus Christ and life should not bring us to the point where we step out of a powerful position into a powerless position.

I challenge all to be empowered to use their power to conquered life. Do not allow life to conqueror you; remember you have power. Wake in the morning and say:

I HAVE POWER!

~ Peace, Brice

Matthew 28:18 - "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth."

Respect

One of the reasons why our world is in the shape that it is currently in is because of the misconception of the meaning of "Respect." We have defined respect in such a way that it meets up to our standards.
I remember one Sunday afternoon, when I was about sixteen years old, I was talking to one of my counselors and we were just joking around. I made a statement that changed the whole mood of the setting. "You have to earn my respect"; Oh boy, if you guys know Sis. John, then you know she got me real good. Immediately after I made that comment, she sat me down and explained in detail what respect really means.

In the Bible God created Adam from the dust of the ground in the image of God. Every human-being from the past, the present and the future comes from Adam. All of us are just like Adam, we mess up.
However, our world has defined "respect":
* As something that we have to "earn" from others.
* As something that you give to receive (you give respect to get respect).
There are many more definitions of respect that we use to meet our standards.

Brice Point: None of us come from dogs or even monkeys. Which means that I'm not going to treat anyone like a dog or a monkey nor will I settle for doggish treatments. I'm going to treat everyone with respect for the simple fact that he/she comes from the same "dust" that I came from. There isn't any such thing of "I have to give respect to get respect." We should all respect one another due to the fact that we all are human-beings. There should be a LEVEL of respect because we all comes from dust.

Some believe, because they are so accomplished that "little people" need to earn their respect. Now, I'm not speaking in terms of authority over individuals (For example: Students must submit to teachers authority), I'm speaking of those who tell other human-beings that "I'm successful and in order for you to shake my hand, you will have to prove that your worthy of shaking my hand."
Yeah, one maybe more accomplished than the other, but WE ALL ARE FROM DUST!

Remember, Adam sinned against God. All of us has sinned against God in some form or fashion. Sometimes we forget that we are not perfect. How? We make statements such as "I can't stand him/her", "I have no respect for him/her", "I've lost all my respect for him/her" and much more. Have we forgotten that there was a time when we did something wrong against God? What if God decided to treat us the way we treat others?
I stop saying "I can't stand him/her." Why? Because who an individual is is an application of the lesson that they learned from past mistakes. When we come across those who dislike us, let them know that "I just can't help yourself, I come from Adam."

"Who we are today is applications of the lessons that we learned from yesterdays mistakes" ~ S. J Brice

All us came from Adam, Adam came from the dust of the ground. That means, we all have dusty character traits. We all have something within our personality that we need to dust off.
So respect all because all came from dust. Let's make this world a better place, and it starts with you.

Peace ~ S.J Brice

Precious Lord ~ The Birth of A Famous Song

THE BIRTH OF THE SONG 'PRECIOUS LORD'

Back in 1932, I was 32 years old and a fairly new husband. My wife, Nettie
and I were living in a little apartment on Chicago's south side. One hot
August afternoon I had to go to St. Louis, where I was to be the featured
soloist at a large revival meeting. I didn't want to go. Nettie was in the
last month of pregnancy with our first child. But a lot of people were
expecting me in St. Louis. I kissed Nettie good-bye, clattered downstairs
to our Model A and, in a fresh Lake Michigan
breeze, chugged out of Chicago on Route 66.

However, outside the city, I discovered that in my anxiety at leaving, I
had forgotten my music case. I wheeled around and headed back. I found
Nettie sleeping peace-fully. I hesitated by her bed; something was
strongly telling me to stay. But eager to get on my way, and not wanting
to disturb Nettie, I shrugged off the feeling and quietly slipped out of
the room with my music.

The next night, in the steaming St. Louis heat, the crowd called on me to
sing again and again. When I finally sat down, a messenger boy ran up with
a Western Union telegram. I ripped open the envelope. Pasted on the yellow
sheet were the words: YOUR WIFE JUST DIED.

People were happily singing and clapping around me, but I could hardly keep
from crying out. I rushed to a phone and called home. All I could hear on
the other end was 'Nettie is dead. Nettie is dead.' When I got back, I
learned that Nettie had given birth to a boy. I swung between grief and
joy. Yet that same night, the baby died. I buried Nettie and our little
boy together, in the same casket. Then I fell apart.

For days I closeted myself. I felt that God had done me an injustice. I
didn't want to serve Him anymore or write gospel songs. I just wanted to go
back to that jazz world I once knew so well. But then, as I hunched alone in
that dark apartment those first sad days, I thought back to the afternoon I
went to St. Louis. Something kept telling me to stay with Nettie. Was that
something God? Oh, if I had paid more attention to Him that day, I would
have stayed and been with Nettie when she died.

From that moment on I vowed to listen more closely to Him. But still I was
lost in grief. Everyone was kind to me, especially one friend. The
following Saturday evening he took me up to Malone's Poro College, a
neighborhood music school. It was quiet; the late evening sun crept through
the curtained windows. I sat down at the piano, and my hands began to
browse over the keys.
Something happened to me then. I felt at peace. I felt as though I could
reach out and touch God. I found myself playing a melody, once into my
head that just seemed to fall into place:

'Precious Lord, take my hand,
lead me on let me stand,
I am tired, I am weak, I am worn,
through the storm, through the night lead me on to the light,
take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home.'

The Lord gave me these words and melody, He also healed my spirit. I learned
that when we are in our deepest grief, when we feel farthest from God, this
is when He is closest, and when we are most open to His restoring power.

And so I go on living for God willingly and joyfully,

until that day comes when He will take me and gently lead me home.

-Tommy Dorsey-

For those too young to know who he is , Tommy Dorsey was a band leader in
the Thirties and Forties. Did you know that Tommy Dorsey wrote this song? I
surely didn't. What a wonderful story of how God CAN heal the brokenhearted!
Beautiful, isn't it?

Worth the reading wasn't it? Think on the message for a while.
Thought you might like to share this, I just did..

The Tea Cup

This is an anonymous reading which beautifully illustrates how the divine Potter works with his people to mold them into the kind of vessels that will bring him honor and glory. Enjoy!

The TEACUP

The TEACUP looked like an ordinary teacup until it spoke: "You do not understand. I have not always been a teacup. There was a time when I was nothing but red clay. My master took me, rolled me, and patted me over and over and over. I yelled, "Leave me alone!" But he only smiled and said, "NOT YET." Then I was placed on a spinning wheel and spun around and around. I screamed, "Stop it! I am getting dizzy." The master nodded and said, "NOT YET." Then he put me in an oven, and it was terribly hot. I thought he would burn me to a crisp. I yelled and knocked on the door. I could see his lips moving as he said, "NOT YET." Finally, the door was opened and I began to cool. Then suddenly he painted me all over, and the fumes were horrible. I cried, "Stop it! Stop!" He only nodded: "NOT YET." All at once he put me back in the oven and it was twice as hot. I begged, pleaded, screamed, and cried. But he only said, "NOT YET." Then at the last minute, just when I knew I would never make it, he opened the oven and placed me on a shelf. An hour later he handed me a mirror and said, "Look at your self." I was beautiful, really beautiful.

"As I gazed at my beauty, my master said; "I know it hurt to be rolled and patted, but if I had left, you would have DRIED UP. I know it hurt to be spun around and around. But if I had stopped, you would have CRUMBLED. I know it hurt in the oven, but if I had stopped you would had CRACKED. I know the fumes were bad when I painted you, but if I had stopped you never would have HARDENED. But now you are a finished product. You are what I had in mind when I first began with you!"

Brice Point: Do you see how God is patient with us when he is molding us through the storms of life? Notice the reactions of the clay, doesn't it reminds us of how we scream, yell, beg and even demand things at God? Beloved, whenever your in a storm, those dark moments in life, just remember that he is shaping you to look beautiful when the sun comes out.
When life gets just bit harder, just tie a knot at the end of the rope and hang on.

Jeremiah 18:4 "And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make.

I'm Shaped Part III

Hello all, as I conclude this series of "I'm shaped", I must say that it has helped me grow. It has given me a better understanding of who I'am. I see a need even now to accept who I am. When others "can't stand me", I can love me because God has shaped me in a unique way.

Personality

There isn't anybody in the world that has your personality. However, some may have similiar character traits, but they do not process your inner being. Who we are today is an application of the lessons we learned from yesterday's mistakes. You and I might of made the same mistakes but we have learned different lessons from it. That is why we all are different. We all think differently.

Brice Point: Since we all think and act differently, we need to accept one another's personalities. Over and over again, people run to me and inform me that "so and so" can't stand them or dislikes them. There are times when individuals inform me that others dislike me. I have to let them know that "I'm not perfect!" Who I am is an application from the lessons I learned from my mistakes. I can't help it that I come from Adam! I have dustly character traits.

Accept who you are. Love who you are. Accept who other's are. Love other's.

Experience

Experiences isn't moments in life you run from. Experiences are moments in life you learn from. I use to think that I should forget about my past and never bring it up. I thought if I can forget my past then I would be able to do better and never repeat the same mistakes again.
Question: How can you avoid future mistakes without remembering past mistakes? If you forget your mistakes then you are reliable to make the same mistakes over and over again.
Remember your experiences in life so that you can avoid some of tomorrow's pit falls.

Brice Point: Often in school, our beloved, educated teachers informs students that history will always repeat itself. "History is filled with past mistakes." It doesn't make sense for me to repeat the same mistakes that my father made in his life. My history should teach me what to avoid so that I can become greater then my history. Do not become subject to the slavery mentality where you have to repeat history. Be greater then your parents and roll models.

You are shaped and there isn't anybody who can say anything different!

Be Shaped, Be Shaped, Be Shaped

I'm Shaped
I'm Shaped
I'm Shaped

I hope and pray that this series has blessed your life as it did mines.

John 14:12 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father" ~ Peace

WELL WELL, can I say ...?

First, I would like to congratulate the Lakers for a job well-down. Now for all those who I spoke to about this series, May I please ask you a question: "can I say..."

I TOLD YOU SO!

Kobe Bryant isn't Michael Jordan! Can we please cease from trying to make a comparison between the two? Kobe Bryant is an excellent player, however, he will never win a championship all by himself. (He needed Shaq, that's the bottom line). Next year, either the Knicks or the Nuggets are going to take it. Any Questions?

Shout outs: Bro. Landrum (I had your back, have fun at the parade), all those who were in denial (N.Y friends), and SPECIALLY to my Cali friends for their faith in the Lakers. Oh yeah, my main man James, Dallas, TX. His a Kobe fan (well, I guess you can change your myspace layout, lol).

Congratulations to the Boston Celtics!

Peace ~ Feels good to be from the Northeast sometimes.

I'm Shaped Part II

"I'm Shaped" Part II is a continuation of Part I. You should read Part I before you read Part II.

Rick Warren continues his presentation by sharing all the qualities that we have from God.

Spiritual Gifts
Heart
Abilities
Personality
Experience
(Warren, 236)

Spiritual Gifts
God has given everyone a Spiritual Gift(s). The gift(s) are present(s) that we did not earn or deserve. God has given us a gift(s) before we were born and it is our job to figure out what is our gift(s). "An unopened gift is worthless (Warren, 237)." There is a job for you on this earth that needs to be accomplished only by the special gift(s) that God has given to you.

Brice Point: Notice the way I wrote "gift(s)". I believe that a gift is given to everyone; however, some may have more than one gift. Which would indicate that God has given some more than one gifts. Do not become jealous of anybody else's gift(s). Appreciate what you have and use it to accomplish your task. When you focus on someone else gift(s), you become stagnant in your position while the other person is moving towards success.

One may ask: How can I discover my gifts?
Simply, you would have to pay attention to those moments where people "thank you" for that special act of concern, love,or compassion. When do people say "you helped me a lot, thanks for being there, I do not know of anybody else who can do it like you do." Have you ever recieve those words of affirmation that show love and appreciation. Think about it.

Heart
God has also given us a "Heart." Physically we all have a heart. We all have a heartbeat; however all of our heartbeats are different. However, I'm not here to talk about the physical heart, but the mental heart. "We need the physical heart to live but we need the mind to be successful ~ S.J Brice" What is your passion in life? God has given all of us a mind to think with. Someone once said, "Think, it isn't illegal yet." We all have the right to think for ourselves.

Where is our focus?
Your focus should be on your spiritual gifts.
Your focus should be on the mission that you have to accomplish before your life is over.
Your focus should be on Glorifying God and being a blessing to others.

Stay Tune ~ Peace

Think Before you Speak

Life is filled with lessons. One lesson that we all have learned is the statement "think before you speak." When we fail to think before speaking, unwise comments will flow out of our mouths and we will end up looking foolish. Often, there are time when we have to go back and restate the comments which we have made. It is much better to take the time out to think of an answer when somebody or even life ask you a question.

Hillary Clinton in this case spoke without thinking. Due to her erroneous commentary, she will now pay for her words. When we speak without thinking, foolishness will pour out of our mouths and we will pay for our comments. Watch the video and do not judge her, but learn from her. Peace

I'm Shaped Part I

A few months ago, I read a book called "The Purpose Driven Life" written by Rick Warren. This book is truly a great tool for anyone who is confused about life. Anyone who needs or wants help finding some meaning in life, I recommend this book to you. This book can give a boost to anyone who is interested in elevating their life to higher levels. This is an awesome book!
Of course, the Bible, the Word of God is the ultimate tool we all need, to show us how to be saved and live a life filled with purpose; however Mr. Warren has drawn out some principles from the Bible and brought them to life. Some of which are so clear and practical, that even a young man (me), who had a bad start in life, now has confidence, heading towards a great beginning.

When God spoke the world into existence, he gave everything and everyone a unique trait that only a "noun" can process. For instance, the sun gives light and cannot produce darkness; some animals hop, some run, some hunt, some swim; the state of Texas is slower then the state of New York (I had to add that in).I am joking, Texas is cool. As for human beings, we all have been "uniquely designed, or "shaped," to do certain things (Warren, 234)."

Application "Brice point": (While I'm passing through here, I must say...) This is the reason why we all should learn to get along with each other. None of us will ever be exactly like each other. WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT! Get used to it and learn to accept each other's differences. Thanks

Back to the topic: There is a reason why you were made the way you are made. God has "shaped" you to serve him, and with that, you serve him in your unique way. Rick Warren makes statements in his book such as: "God deliberately shaped and formed you to serve him in a way that makes your ministry unique"; "God doesn't make junk"(quoted from Ethel Waters); "God never wastes anything (Warren, 235)."
Notice, you might have had a bad beginning, but thank God that you can have a great ending. Often in life, we allow our life to be ordered by self-fulfilled prophesy. We allow "doubts" (sometimes of others) and our "past" to hinder us from moving forward. The World may never forgive you of your past; for example, when you apply for a job, most applications may ask you "have you been charged with a felony?" Records of your past will always show up, which often times hinder you from being employed. However, we have a creator who created the world and is willing and able to forgive you (man, I feel like preaching!).

You may feel as if you wasted time in life and "it's too late to change", but I'm here to empower, encourage and edify. If you are still alive, then that means God has given you another chance to live your life with greatness. When people try to place your past in front of you and say "you can't, you can't", knock it out of YOUR way and tell them "brother/sister, I'm Shaped." I'm going to quit this insert right here and work on Part II. I decided to write about this because we all need this (specially my peers). Hit me up with your comments or questions underneath the blog.

"We are God's Workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works." ~ Ephesians 2:10

Peace, Brice

In Loving Memory of my Buddy

My buddy Neichel Washington was born September 3, 1988 and pass away October 8, 2007. She was a member of the Queens church of Christ, Flushing, N.Y. I met her in a singing group called the "Easternaires." Neichel and I bonded real quick and we became good buddies. She had a beautiful smile. We were always busy, but whenever we talked, we would talk and talk and talk. We would encourage each other to stay strong in a young age. She loved lip gloss and was into fashion. I just cannot believe that she is gone. I wish I had the chance to say good bye, I wish I was there in the hospital and I wish, I wish and I wish. My heart is broken. I just cannot believe it! (please excuse my grammar, this is my website and I just want to express my self). I love you Neichel Washington .

An Associates Degree in Sociology

Hello folks, I have recently received an associates degree in Sociology from Southwestern Christian College (Pictures will be available soon). On graduation day, for some reason, I wasn't excited. Everybody was happy. Family and friends came from far and near to congratulate and celebrate with their love ones. On my mind, I wasn't congratulating myself on a success because I was focused on a Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies (in two more years).
A number of people asked me why wasn’t I happy. I didn't want to tell them my reason because I didn't want to belittle an "associates degree" by saying "this is nothing to me; I'm waiting for my bachelor's." Regina told me, "be thankful after every accomplishment, CELEBRATE!" She help me realize that upon my success, I was being negative. "Anytime you make an accomplishment, you should be thankful and grateful. Its a blessing".

How in the world can one be negative when they have accomplished something?
Amen, "you learn something everyday"

On that day, I had too much to be thankful for. I was on a "National Dinner Day Scholarship", which covers my entire two year tuition. I've made good contributions on the Campus. I'm a young black male in college instead of being in jail. Can you see how negativity can block the excitement and joy of life.
Brice, stop being negative, enjoy life, get the thrill and excitement that is within life itself.

Folks, let's be thankful in all things. God is JUST too good for us to be upset, mad and negative.

Love God, Love self, Love people and Love life. Celebrate when God brings you to success.

Ecclesiastes 11:9 says, "Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, And let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth;" ~Peace

Why do I want to be who I desire to be?

I remember when I was a little kid and my friends and I would ask each other "what do you want to be when you grow up?" Some would say: a doctor, nurse, bus driver, wrestler, mechanic, teacher, a thief (lol) and much more. I always wanted to be a "children's doctor" (pediatrician). Think way back (lol) when you were a young lad or a young "cute, adorable" little girl, living in the farm, the city, or the "hood". Do you remember those conversations that use to brighten up the day and we would jump up and down confessing that we will become who we wanted to become? However, how often did we ask ourselves "why" did we want to become who we wanted to become?

Living in N.Y.C, I've been taught many lessons that I believe that only N.Y.C can teach you (not trying to start any beef). One thing I've learned from N.Y, in terms of the environment, that when you waste time, YOU WASTE TIME.

For example, When you walk the streets of Manhattan, everybody is about their business and surely they do not have time to stop and say "hello" ("what a rude place" ~ Anonymous [Texas folks]). There is a reason for certain individuals walking the streets of the city. They are heading towards a particular destination. That destination must be reach before the day is over. If they do not meet that destination before the day is over, then it would be a mission incomplete. Perhaps, if I can speak on behalf of some, the reason why individuals with a nice suit or dress are walking in haste with their head focus on that destination because there is a place where they can go and say "mission complete."

Why do you want to be who you desire to be? Even with some of those individuals who walk up and down the streets of Manhattan should ask themselves the same question. I could walk down the streets of Manhattan with a nice suit, long coat, fresh hair cut, have my head focus on anything, walk fast, refuse to say hello and destined to go no where. Anybody can do it!

Why do you want to be a doctor?
Why do you want to be a lawyer?
Why do you want to be a teacher?
Why do you want to be a business owner?
Why do you want to be a police officer?
Why do you want to be the president of the United States?
Why do you want to be a preacher?

There are a lot of "why's" that needs to be answered in our lives. Life is too short to waste time in anything. James says "... what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away" James 4:14 ~ New King James.

"There's has to be a reason for everything. If there isn't a reason for anything, then there isn't a reason to live." ~ S.J Brice

Notice: When there isn't a "why" in the center of your future endeavors, no matter, if you become a successful doctor, preacher or anything else, the mission is incomplete. Why? Because there isn't any "why" (purpose, goal) in your mission. You are fighting everyday of living for nothing.

I believe God called me for something else rather then a pediatrician. I believe that God called me to be a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We all have dreams and goals we want to accomplish. The question which we all fail to ask is: Why do I want to be who I desire to be?

Example: Why do I want to be a minister:
I want to bring Glory to God as I use my gifts in Ministering to God's people. I believe that God has blessed me to be a good source of help to those who is (was) in dying need of help. I want to use these gifts and be as relevant as I possibly can in the lives of People. I enjoy being a blessing to the Lives of people and Glorifying God.

Notice the "King of the Jungle (the picture above)." The king often remains in that position. One may ask: why? From observation, the king is overseeing his family and watching for predators. At the end of the day, when his family is safe from predators, he will go back to his place of comfort and be at peace because "mission complete."

My question to you is: Who do you want to be and why do you want to be who you want to be?

Proverbs 13:16 "Wise people think before they act; fools don't - and even brag about their foolishness" ~ New Living Translation.

Welcome to my Website

Hello all in "net" (Internet) land ! This is Steven Brice. I am a young man from Brooklyn, N.Y, where I attend the Kings Church of Christ. I decided to start this blog because I have a desire to uplift my people through Empowerment, Encouragment and Edification. This site will be updated weekly so tune in, leave your comments, questions or opinions under each insert and view the mind sets of many lawyers, teachers, students, children, parents, preachers and much more.

One thing I have learned in life is that, every aspect of life has a spiritual application. Every aspect of our lives, whether it is good or bad, has a lesson within it that we all can learn from. Often times when we are in troubling circumstances, we work our way out of those circumstances, and fail to grab the lesson that was hidden in that circumstance. When that occur's, we find ourselves walking (if not running) back to the same circumstance blind folded and wonder how we end up at the same position. Has anybody been there before?

There are empowering, encouraging and edifying lessons in all situations.
"Seek and you shall find".

"Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing." James 1:2-4 ~ New Living Translation
